Adapter from the new (Lightning) to the old connector (30pin), which allows you to use your old iPhone / iPod docking stations, chargers or car docks with your newer iPhone. Then you do not have to buy new devices just because you got a newer generation iPhone! This is basically an adapter you would rather not own because it means you have a device that does not support your phone. But once in a while, it takes an adapter to make it all work.

Note that the adapter does not work for all devices**
The old 30pin connector had pins for various things, such as more for video, more for audio, and more for firewire. The new one has the same thing, but it uses a chip to determine the features. Where the old data 30pin dock had 2 for video, 4 for phono video, 2 for audio and so on, the new one (8pin) has just 2 in total - and then the chip decides what your iPhone should send through the socket. This adapter does not work with video at all, we have several other adapters with 30pin to HDMI that can also transmit audio.

** Please note that this adapter does not work with all speakers. Apple produced 2 versions of the 30pin connector, and this adapter only supports one version. Unfortunately, it is not possible to decide if it fits your equipment in advance, but it is the best offer and fortunately it does not cost that much.
