17" is quite a lot of space to work on, but if it's not quite enough or if you're just a big fan of extended displays, you'll need to have an adapter or connector that can connect your computer's Mini DisplayPort with DVI, VGA , DisplayPort or, if the screen or projector is newer, HDMI. We sell different versions of all three combinations, so look at the products and see which of them meets your requirements. If you want a really high resolution you can also obtain a Mini DisplayPort for 4K HDMI adapter. If you have multiple items to alternately connect to your MacBook Pro 17, we recommend a Mini DisplayPort for 3-in-1 – it has input for both HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI! So you don't have to have any more adapters lying around and save a lot of money.
If you're tired of having plugs and wires everywhere, consider investing in a Smartcast v5i Airplay! It's wireless HDMI, so audio video signals can be sent directly to your TV — from your MacBook, iPhone, or other Apple device! Airplay has been built into the devices since iOS7.
