The cable is a bit thicker than Apple's it's also a bit harder than Apple's, that's because so keeps it better, especially against UV light which has it with destroying Apple's cables.

In Lightning cables it's usually 1 of 2 things that kill them, either it's because the cable breaks, it's usually because you pull the cable instead of the cable head when you take it out of your iPhone or iPad or because it gets a crack either the way it sits , the way you use it or in the bag. UV light makes the cable easier to bend and break, so it's a good idea not to have your cables lying around when not using them, or keep them away from the sun in any case. 

But the main reason a cable breaks is usually the chip, because Apple has built so much security into the cable so it doesn't take much until one of the security features means that the cable can't be used anymore, e.g. if the chip starts using a bit more power , then turns it off, comes a half-unstapped connection so turn the cable off, only to protect your iPhone or iPad – that's where MFi chips work really well. MFi chips last much longer than the non-original chips, in fact MFi chips usually last much longer than your iPhone, the non-original chips never do. 

It is good for you, your phone and not least the environment that you use MFi cables, this means that less must be produced for your iPhone or iPad and therefore the environment is less. MFi chips are also more environment right because they use less power, but it's probably not something that's going to mean more at the long end. 

The cable here works for all iPads and iPhones with Lightning connectors, i.e. all iPhones from iPhone 5(2012) onwards and all iPads from iPad 4(2012) and Frim after. Be aware, however, that the latest iPad pro's don't use Lightning connectors anymore.
