The cable for iPhone and iPad* charging is called a Lightning cable - but can also be called an 8pin cable. It works with iPhone 5 and newer models and from iPad mini onwards. The Lightning cable works completely like the older cables that you know all the way back from the iPod. It can both charge and be used to synchronize your iPhone or iPad with your computer. The Lightning cable can also be used as audio cables or for video with the right accessories.

There are no iPhones, iPads or iPods with a Lightning connector that this cable does not support. The cable works in the same way as the original cable. It is simply inserted into your iPhone charger or charger from another brand and you are ready to go.

The Lightning cables are available in different lengths. For the iPhone, you can get the lengths 1 m, 2 m and 3 m. 1 m is the traditional length that all iPhones and iPads come with. 2 m is really good for your iPad, so you can sit on the sofa without having to move closer to your socket.

*The Lightning cable of 3m does not work optimally with iPads, which must use 12W or iPhone with 5W, as charging takes place slowly or not at all (it just holds power without being discharged or charged further). We therefore recommend buying 1 or 2 meters if you want to charge an iPad with the Lightning cable or buy a more powerful charger.
