iPhone 6 and 6s are almost the same with the iPhone 7, the difference is that the iphone 7 doesn't have a mini jack jack, so there doesn't need a cover in it to get a plug in also sits both front and rear the camera as well as the LED flash a little else leading that makes most iPhone covers had to be re-made to fit with the new iPhone 7.
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus have a slightly curved screen, the screen is not curved, but the glass around the screen is curved, it means that armor glass does not go all the way to the edge, unless you buy armor glass with arch built in or with an edge which is either ceramic or made of Aluminum.
Because the glass is curved it's also much easier to smash it if you drop your iPhone 7, we think a cover is plenty to protect an iPhone 7, but an armor glass is probably also a good idea if you want to be extra safe.
The place your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7+ needs to be protected the most is in the corners, this is where your iPhone 7 is most likely to get hit if you drop it, the corners are also the place your glass most easily breaks if it gets a jolt there , therefore, a cover is a good idea, also to protect the screen.
We've done everything we can to get someone as thin a cover as possible because we'd rather it's more like having a cover on your iPhone as possible. If the cover can't be thin then it should have an extra function so you don't lose anything by wearing a cover, but get an extra function, e.g. a purse you can use when you just need to have a few cards with, the covers with purse are like also the ones that protect the best against loss and shock.
A cover always protects against blows, losses and scratches, but it can also cause scratches.
Hard plastic covers can tend to scratch your iPhone on the back because dirt, bumps and sand cards get caught between the cover and your iPhone and it can cause scratches when it's allowed to work, therefore it's usually a good idea to choose a rubber cover or silicone, it's also easier to hold on to than one of hard plastic or your iPhone alone.
The hard plastic covers also have benefits, they are much thinner and lighter than those made of rubber and silicone, and if you don't want scratches from a hard cover you can just wash it regularly, then you get rid of it and it's not a big problem. The hard plastic cover we have from philo is one of the best we've ever seen, it takes lots of bumps and bruises, but weather nothing and is the thinnest in the world, the company behind is an Italian one and they care a lot about both quality and design.
We have both more expensive and cheap covers here, our noname is usually cheap and they are also really good if you don't expect to get a highend cover, if you want to be sure to buy the best cover, in the world, then buy one from philo or Baseus They're really good.
